PHAINO CHURCHES

Phaino is a non-denominational movement that functions as a covering for churches to belong under, where encouragement, advice on conduct, accountability, correct doctrine, support, care, training/coaching/mentoring, and evangelism are facilitated to help churches strive to be fully who and what God calls them to be.

OUR MISSION

As Phainό, we strive to be a body of churches, where each church is growing in their faith and in Christ, being who Jesus calls us to be and doing what He calls us to do for His glory (Titus 1:1; Colossians 1:28-29; Colossians 1:22-23; 1 Thessalonians 3:13).

Our name Phainό is the actual Greek word which translates to “light” in John 5:35. Jesus is talking about John shinning and that people rejoiced for a while in his light. We know that John’s main purpose even though he preached repentance and was a shinning light used by the Lord, was to prepare the way for Jesus Christ, the light itself. Our name shares our heart, that we desire to be a light for Jesus. That He would use us and shine through us to make disciples and impact the world, while also making sure we are being a prepared bride, being and functioning as He desires, pointing to and paving the way for Jesus whenever He comes.

OUR Precedent

The truth of Jesus Christ and who He is, if sincerely believed and walked in, impacts us individually and shapes us as a group of believers. In the book of Acts after Jesus ascends, we see the launch of His Church (His people) into different regions, where believers in Him start functioning collectively with fellow believers around them as God would want them to, as a people under and with Jesus.

With many churches being planted in different regions, we see how Paul, some of the other disciples like Peter and Jesus’ brother James among others, and the Church Council in Jerusalem function as overseers and guides to these groups of believers (churches), helping them do life together as Jesus would want them to as a collective unit, as the Church (Acts 15). Validating this role of influence and oversight, Paul sees himself as a father over the churches, explaining that he has been assigned this by the Lord to steward these churches well (2 Corinthians 10; Colossians 1:25; Ephesians 3:2).

Led by Jesus, with the same desire of churches fully being who Christ desires them to be, we model ourselves after these overseers.
